The final three days of the Committee Stage of the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill are coming up over the next 8 days.
I have signed a number of amendments that are due to be debated particularly on securing a meaningful vote for Parliament on the final deal, and for Parliamentary scrutiny and control of Ministerial powers arising from the Bill. I hope that the Government will agree that these are sensible amendments.
The Government’s amendment to put a date of exit into the Bill will be voted on Wednesday 20th December. I have made it very clear I am opposed to this amendment and I hope the Government will take that into account.
