UPDATE 9.10.17 - please find below a letter update from the Council about the Merton Estates Local Plan.
Residents will recall that an outline planning application for the High Path regeneration was submitted to Merton Council earlier this year. I understand from council officers however that the application has not yet been formally validated and registered. This means that it cannot be found on the Council website, and the public consultation on the application has not begun.
The reason for this delay is that the Council is waiting for the Planning Inspectorate to authorise the final round of consultation on the Local Estates Plan before it can be signed off. The Estates Local Plan needs to be in place in order to guide the development of High Path and the other two estates in due for regeneration.
I have been told that formal validation and registration of the outline planning application will not happen before November 2017 but the council is hopeful that it will happen by Christmas. They are keen that the public consultation on the application does not happen at the same time as the Local Estates Plan consultation but that it will follow on shortly afterwards.
