This week I met with Professor Alberto Ferro, a Clinical Pharmacologist at King’s College London as well as a Consultant Physician at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals to talk about how scientific evidence can be used by policy makers.
Professor Ferro came to parliament as part of a scheme run by the Royal Society to learn more about how policy is formed and how their research can be used to make evidence based decisions. The visit also gave me the opportunity to learn more about the Royal Society's work and the excellent research happening
Meeting expert scientists from my constituency and all over the UK is a great reminder that the UK is a world leader in science. We should use the expertise of our brightest scientists to provide evidence for policy making.
