Across the Country, every day, there are children too afraid to go to school or even leave their homes because of bullying. The NSPCC website has shocking statistics that show that more than 16,000 children are absent from school because of bullying and over 25,000 calls to Childline relating to bullying.
This Morning are running a “Be Kind” campaign to put an end to bullying, and I fully support this campaign and would like to see schools in my constituency and across the country join in and pledge to educate children on the effect that bullying can have and how to be kinder to one another and look out for those who are unable to defend themselves.
By visiting the This Morning website at http://www.itv.com/thismorning/hot-topics/pledge-to-share-our-anti-bullying-message you can watch their video with open letters from two parents whose children took their own lives because of bullying and pledge to join this campaign to end bullying.
The Government is also investing £4.4million in anti-bullying projects - you can find more about these here.
