Since I was elected in 2005, one of my top priorities has been to fight for improvements to our health services. We are all proud of our NHS and admire the fantastic work its staff do every single day.
We have seen some huge improvements locally over this time, including new healthcare facilities at the former Nelson Hospital, as well as in Raynes Park and Wimbledon Town Centre. These centres provide multiple services in modern, fit for purpose buildings. I led the residents backed campaign to save the Wimbledon Park GP Surgery and worked with the Government to secure new equipment for St George’s Hospital.
We can do more of course and I have been working with local healthcare leaders and the Government to ensure the NHS here is always able to adapt and grow with continued investment.
A Conservative Government would deliver unprecedented investment for St Helier Hospital, allowing the Trust to build state-of-the-art hospital facilities as well as invest in and refurbish the older parts of the hospital buildings.
It is important to note, that this capital investment is in addition to a £34 billion funding boost for the NHS, which has been promised by, and can only be delivered by, a Conservative Government.
If re-elected, I shall continue to fight as your strong voice in Westminster, for investment in our NHS and to ensure high quality services are on hand and available to all.
