I was delighted to be a dragon at Merton’s National Citizen Service Challenge last week.
The NCS is a government initiative that provides a brilliant opportunity for young people from across Wimbledon and from all backgrounds to come together and get involved in their community. The programme also equips local teenagers with the skills they need to get on in life, whilst meeting new people and experiencing new challenges.
They had to work together to make a pitch to the Dragons for cash which would be used to advertise their charity idea. The quality of the pitches was fantastic – a huge congratulations to all those who took part.
I was pleased to see many partners, both local and national, like Wimbledon Foodbank, Deen City Farm, The Red Cross and The Terrence Higgins Trust giving their support to the NCS.
I hope many local young people will take the opportunity the NCS offers and you can find out more on their website: www.ncsthechallenge.org
